6024 has just passed the crest of Mid-Hants' "Alps". Note the safety valve just feathering.

Firemen report a free-steaming boiler, but it's tricky to control such a big grate area to meet the demands of MHR gradient changes (e.g. 1:60 up to 1:60 down)
