The Countryman is our Sunday Lunch steam hauled dining train serving a three course roast luncheon during two round trips from Alresford Station.

The Countryman uses former British Railways Pullman stock and Mk 1 First Class dining coaches that were used on premier services to the north of England such as the ‘Master Cutler’, the ‘Yorkshire Pullman’ and Boat trains in the South of England.

Sunday’s were made for this, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

The Countryman operates on select Sundays throughout the year, departing Alresford station at 1.00 pm sharp; returning after two round trips, at around 4.30 pm.

First Class train fare and meal only £45 for Adults and £40 for Children. Drinks are available from the wine waiting staff at extra cost.

Due to the fixed seating layout on these coaches, bookings can only be accepted in multiples of two.

Children must be over the age of 5 to board this train. Due to the internal dimensions of our dining coaches, physically disabled persons can only be accomodated if they are not confined to a wheelchair.

The Countryman is a very popular train, so we recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.
