Our Trains
All of our scheduled services are capable of carrying up to six fixed wheelchairs in the brake compartment, reachable via ramps at any of our stations. We also have a specially adapted carriage with a customised open space designed for wheelchair use around fixed tables, please contact us or phone on 01962 733810 for information as to whether this carriage is in operation. Passengers who are sufficiently mobile are welcome to travel in any part of the train, with their wheelchair stored in the guards compartment. Please remember that our volunteer staff are always more than happy to help, so do ask if you have the need!
(Please be aware that the fixed seating arrangement of our dining trains limits such services to sufficiently mobile passengers - RAT excluded)
Alresford Station
Disabled parking is available at Alresford, with step-less entrance through the main station building and the Old Goods Shed. Disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are provided at Alresford within the Goods Shed. Access to platform two is limited to a ramp across the track and our station staff will be more than happy to accompany you across should it be required (opportunities may be limited as operations restrict).
Ropley Station
Disabled parking facilites are not available at Ropley, however step-less entry through the station building is possible. Disabled toilet facilities are available at Ropley station, as with Alresford ramp access to Platform 1 is limited to a ramp crossing and again our staff will be more than happy to help you across. Ropley yard is also accessible to wheelchair bound visitors as the surface is - on the whole - flat. The elevated picnic area is available via a sloping pathway from the centre of platform one.
Medstead & Four Marks Station
Disabled parking facilities are again not available at Medstead and unfortunately neither are disabled toilet facilities. Both platforms are accessible through step-less access and again access to either platform can gained via the cross-track ramp if accompanied by a member of MHR staff.
Alton Station
Disabled parking facilites are available at Alton however step-less access to The Watercress Lines' platform three is limited to a ramp crossing Network Rail tracks and is therefore subject to the movements of South West Trains services within the station. Access is permitted if accompanied by a member of MHR or SWT staff however we advise that you contact the MHR prior to visiting in order to ensure that this will be possible. We therefore advise disabled passengers not to commence their journey at Alton. Disabled toilet facilities are also available at Alton Station on the MHR's platform 3 (pictured above).
