The Education Department understands that home education follows its own unique path, where learning can be through traditional classroom methods, project based or child-led. There are a variety of ways for children who are educated at home to take part in learning opportunities at the Watercress Line.
Throughout the year we offer dedicated Home Educator's days that offer engaging and interactive sessions and cover a broad spectrum of subject areas. Our learning sessions are conducted at one of our period stations and feature hands on activities, opportunities to question, explore the station and engine yard and for role play. Keep an eye on our website for updates or send the education office an email expressing your interest.
Group VisitsOur education sessions aren't just for school groups! Organised Home Educator groups can book an education visit to the Watercress Line. Information about the sessions that we offer can be found on our dedicated web pages or alternatively, contact the Education Office who will be happy to work with you to develop sessions to fit your learning objectives.
NB: there are minimum numbers and costs that apply for education group bookings, please enquire for further information.
