| From: Ian Thompson Sent: 03 March 2007 18:53 Subject: Gala Saturday Tony Really enjoyed the first time I've been at a gala. Great to see loads of engines and trains. You must have been busy 'cos I got on five trains and never got the window in the front carriage! My two personal highlights were seeing the Canadian Pacific running... as your own engine and the good looking fireman on the 13:00 from Alton. A blonde bombshell of a lady! She liked playing on that whistle too! Nice to see people around my age really involved in the railway too. Thanks to the team for all their efforts. Regards Ian From: Belinda Jacob
Sent: 04 March 2007 19:55 Subject: Saturday gala! Ref letter from Ian Thompson Hi Tony! Glad he had a good experience of his first gala with us. The first of many I hope. I personally had a brilliant day, May I add the whistling was not all me! Regards Belinda Jacob (Billie) (MHR FIREMAN) |

contribution from
the Steam Gala weekend. I liked this photo even before I saw that Henry
O'Dwyer had independently shot the same scene - my eye for a
composition must be improving!" Note and photo (4th March
