ALTON BUS RUNNING DAYS

On the first Sunday of the month from May to September, and the last Sunday in September, a vintage bus service operates from Alton station. So hop on and take a free ride around the nearby villages - it's a great way to get to Jane Austen's House in nearby Chawton!

This vintage bus service is operated by the Medstead Depot Omnibus Group, who are one of three groups under the Working Omnibus Museum Project Ltd, and their buses frequently visit running days and rallies around the South. MDOG is part of a charity established in the late 1980's which provides a storage depot for 18 vintage buses originally running bus services in the south of England. The buses are owned and maintained by individuals or small groups.
