Solve the clues on a 3 course evening dining train! The scene is set at the station, then armed with your clues you can interrogate the suspects whilst enjoying your meal on-board a steam train. The evening concludes back at the station where the murderer is revealed.
The Murder Mystery dining train operates on select Saturday evenings. The evening starts at 6.30pm and finishes at approx 11pm. There is a minimum age of 16 and a smart dress code.
Train fare and meal only £80 per person, including a complimentary bottle of wine per couple.

Saturday 6th May - Murder in the Pharaoh’s Tomb.
As they hunt for reputedly the largest diamond in the world 'The Khetys Eye' sit inside the Kings Chamber in the tomb of the Pharaoh. You will witness a murder... cross-examine the surviving suspects and inspect the clues.
Morse or Miss Marple could do it, can you?
Saturday 30th September - Murder at the 19th Hole
It's the 1970's, following another frustrating day on the course, members begin to congregate in the Clubhouse with lost calls now forgotten and the near hole-in-one lamented, events take a turn for the worst... Someone is dead. Who, how and why? The police don't have a clue - but will you?
Saturday 16th December - Murder at the Christmas Manor.
Set in the 1930’s, events unfold in the drawing room of Hampstead Manor, located somewhere in the English countryside.
As the lights flicker then fade you'll become embroiled in this shocking Christmas crime.
We’re sure Poirot could solve it, can you?
6.30pm - Guests arrive for pre-dinner drinks in the Buffet on the platform, Alresford Station.
6.50pm - Guests to be seated in the Old Goods Shed prior to an introduction to the evening by our MC.
7pm - The events leading up to and including the dastardly crime!
7.15pm - Guests join the train at Alresford Station where your three course meal is served. During the meal the actors will mingle amongst you to be cross examined - try out your crime busting abilities to identify the murderer.
10.30pm - Return to Alresford station. You will be asked to take your seats back in the theatre in the Old Goods Shed. There you will witness the gripping conclusion and the winning team or teams will be announced.
All of our dining trains are advance booking only. We recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.
Due to the fixed seating layout bookings are made per complete table of two or table of four.
Prices include train fare and meal but exclude drinks. Wines, spirits, beer and soft drinks are available from the wine waiting staff at extra cost. Diners may bring their own wine but will be charged corkage per bottle at: £10 wine/£15 champagne/£20 wine box.
To assist our staff in making the most of your visit, please indicate at the end of the booking if there is a special celebration and provide us with the name of the person or persons for whom this is a special occasion.
Menus and Dietary Requirements
All of our dining trains have a fixed menu which will be available on the website for each particular date. If you require the vegetarian option this must be ordered in advance. To avoid embarrassment on the day, please give details at least one week prior if any member of your party has any special dietary requirements or allergies that require a different meal to be provided, eg: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, no nuts, no red meat, no mushrooms, no shellfish, etc. Please note that it is impossible for us to provide an alternative to the fixed menu if we are only advised on the day.
Murder Mystery evenings start at 6.30pm. The dining train departs Alresford Station at 7.20pm sharp returning to Alresford Station approximately 10.45pm unless otherwise stated.
Meals are served during two round trips on the line. Please allow good time to park and arrive at Alresford station prior to the start of the evening.
All of our dining trains have a smart dress code – shirts and jackets for the gentlemen, dresses or smart trousers for the ladies. Strictly no jeans or trainers please.
We regret that there can be no refund for ‘no show’ customers. Cancellations notified in writing, at least four weeks before the booked date will be refunded less a £10 admin fee; shorter notice cancellations are not entitled to a refund but the company will try to re-sell the tickets. If a purchaser is found then the cost, less an administration charge of £10 per person, will be refunded.
Due to the internal dimensions of our heritage dining coaches, physically disabled persons can only be accommodated if they are not confined to a wheelchair.
On Murder Mystery dining trains we have a minimum age of 16.
Whilst every effort is made to haul the dining trains by steam locomotive and use the coaches as described, there may be the need to use diesel power and/or alternative coaching stock subject to necessity. The company reserves the right to make such changes for whatever reason and without prior notice being given.
