The Real Ale Train continues its tradition of serving ales from Hampshire and surrounding counties, using the products of breweries like Triplefff  (associated with us from the RAT's beginning.)   To accompany the Real Ale there will be hot food available

It is not permissible to bring your own food or drink on Real Ale trains

As the train is effectively a long bar, we are unable to reserve seats for groups

The train starts from Alton at 19.20 and returns, after two trips to Alresford and back, in time to connect with the 22.44 South West Trains' departure from Alton, for stations to London Waterloo

May I say what a great night we had on the RAT train Saturday 26th.
We had about 10 people on with us and have to say how good the whole evening was.  All the staff were great and the ale was excellent.
Even the singing goat we had with us must have had hundreds of photos taken and even someone videoing so all in all I think everyone had a most enjoyable time.
We look forward to seeing you again soon on another RAT and top marks to all the staff who were working on this.
Regards
Martin Camp
Could be read as though you had a nearly empty train, Martin, but somehow I don't think it was. Intriguing about the 'singing goat'!?      d:-)     tw

As a regular visitor to the MHR as a family day out and for RATs, I am no stranger to them.
For the May 6th RAT however I had been talked into arranging a works 'do' for a dozen of my work colleagues. None of them are steam fanatics and not all are ale drinkers, yet one and all had an extremely enjoyable night out and were impressed by the the railway, its stock and most of all its staff.
I've known for years that there is no better way to spend a Saturday night, and I might add I've had my fair share of jibes on the topic to deal with at work, but now it seems even some of the sceptics are beginning to see my point of view!!.........
Please convey my thanks to all involved and thank you for a gr8 website.
Kind regards
Harry
Kind of you to write, thank you Harry ... tw

Please convey my thanks to all staff on duty on the RAT and stations on Saturday. Our group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our night-out. The Ales were excellent (although one barrel was slightly cloudy - but still tasted OK I'm told), food was good and the atmosphere wonderful. Well worth the £9 and the 75 mile journey to get to you. We'll be back!!!!
Regards
Shaun

Hi Clive
I just thought that I'd drop you a quick email to say that we enjoyed ourselves so much on the Real Ale Train when we joined you in November last year that we're coming aboard again! Are you able to tell me what brewery's beer are you planning to get in on your 17th July trip?
I haven't got tickets yet, but plan to book them soon
Best wishes

June 19th was my first visit to your line. I hope it is not the last. Thank you to all involved in creating a wonderful evening for me and my grown up family.
