MHRPS Local Groups information
Society AGM:| The thousands
of visitors who ride on the line each year generate the income to keep
the trains rolling, but preservation and conservation are not cheap. It
cost over £1,000,000 to relay the track from Ropley to Alton,
even though the labour was voluntary. The Society uses members'
subscriptions to provide additional funding for projects, thus
membership is a very positive way of providing "armchair" support to
the volunteers of the Watercress Line. In return you will receive 4
issues per year of the Society's colour journal Mid Hants News, which
is full of the latest news, information, features and photographs.
For further information on Society membership please contact the Watercress Line directly or e-mail the Society's Membership Secretary To join the Society (or renew your membership), please print and complete the membership form, and return it to the Watercress Line's Membership Secretary. You can also find a membership application form included in our 2009 Timetable and Events Calendar (pdf to print)

(1) Becoming a member of the Mid-Hants Railway Preservation Society (ideal if you really do live too far away to offer practical help);
(2) Helping us finance the restoration of our recently purchased Black Five;
(3) Lending a hand* (if you are over 12 and under 85 years of age, and live near enough);
(4) Being a customer: Buy a ticket to explore our line for a day, come to one of our special events, do a footplate course, treat Mum to Sunday lunch on The Countryman, join real ale enthusiasts on a RAT, or give any of these as a present.
*As an enjoyable hobby it even beats mucking about in boats! ... tw
