6th August 2001:

Frank Boait in the wheeldrop below the trailing driving wheels of #35005 'Canadian Pacific' which had been running a hot box. We'd just removed a spring.

The following series of photos shows progress as the wheels are removed.

They were raised again once the loco had been shunted aside.

All photos:  Tony Wood

The wheels were later raised.  The whole process was of interest to an audience at the fence of the picnic site across the running line.

6th August 2001:  Welcome back Keith Loughlin, first day today after a spell in the fork-truck industry.  He and Andy formed a new large section of intricate pipework for CP complete with flanges. Andy was keen enough to try it for fit from the wheeldrop platform whilst that was descending!
Davis and Son stripped Bodmin's steam turbine generator and found, sure enough, one bearing had a disintegrated ball-cage.  Both bearings will be replaced and were ordered.

6th August 2001:

New grate section castings arrived to replace one repaired during the Enthusiast Event on the Ivatt tank engine #41312, plus a spare.
