The old dome cover was totally the wrong shape having been made when 73096 was first restored. Roger Ventin has made a new one to the correct shape by 'cut and shut'. Photo (22nd August 2002): Tony Wood |

Progress with the Standard 5 (#73096): - Duncan is flatting and undercoating - Roger repaints inside the gauge glass covers - The new main steam pipes Andy made and tested last week have now been fitted*

| 23rd July 2002: #73096 is back in the shed for finishing.
This afternoon Rick Walters was working in the cab, Duncan was preparing the cladding for painting (in Brunswick Green to match Bodmin and CP), and Andy was welding new main steam pipes just out of shot in front of the loco.
