17th June 2005:  

Neil has removed old white metal from Bittern's remaining four axleboxes

Steve has been finishing exhaust pipework from the cylinder drain cocks

The connecting rods are off again now that measurements have been taken, so here's a photo to clarify the return crank arrangement for Walschaerts valve-gear - something we get asked about occasionally
