26th May 2002: Report on Canadian Pacific mainline run 18th May 2002. And a video to download
| Looking into the smokebox of Ivatt #41312 you
can see the shiny ends of the newly-replaced flue tubes. One superheater
element still to be refitted.
It's dull and sooty in there, so I used flash, even in the yard. Nice view of the petticoat and the main steam pipes on either side of it, though. Photo (23rd May 2002): Tony Wood |

Frank Boait removes centre rods to allow the leading driving wheels to be dropped for investigation of the hot box. The axlebox crown needs remetalling and the axle has gone away for the journal bearing to be re-turned . |
