Mid-Hants Railway: Filming for 'The Village'

12th February 2000:  Tiger Aspect  filmed Terry Cox having a Mid-Hants Railway 'Footplate Experience' Course for the Meridian TV Docusoap Series: 'The Village', about the lives of the real people of Bentley village, a few miles from The Watercress Line.
Terry, coached here by Mike Burke, soon got the hang of it all again (he had been a fireman on Southern in his working life), and clearly enjoyed the whole thing.

Series is to be broadcast on Meridian TV starting October 2000, repeated nationally on BBC2.

Terry's wife, Joan, was cosy enough with the rest of the crew in the brake van attached; the little stove had a good coal fire going.

Tim Tarrant, Director, had a go himself to experience the magic of driving a steam railway engine.
