Unlimited travel on all trains EXCEPT Flying Scotsman that will not be running. You can hop on and off the trains throughout the day, up and down the line from Alresford to Alton!

Access to Ropley Yard for an hour session (10 people per session), for a rare chance to walk through a carriage, into the corridor tender* and onto Flying Scotsman's footplate to view the lit firebox. A wonderful opportunity for photographs!

* Corridor cab end: height 59 1/4 inches, width 17 inches
Corridor rear: height 58 inches, width 19 1/2 inches
There is an alternative way to reach the footplate if you do not want to walk through the corridor.
All access is via steps.

Children with Footplate Experience tickets must also be accompanied by a full paying adult at all times. Please be aware the corridor and footplate will be dirty, hot, noisy and there are trip hazards.

Regrettably there cannot be a carer concession for this experience.

After a £4.2 million refurbishment by Riley & Son (E) Flying Scotsman returned to steam in 2016 and has been a fantastic ambassador for heritage railways and the National Railway Museum ever since - enabling thousands of people across the UK to enjoy this special locomotive.

Don’t miss out on your chance to see Flying Scotsman up close at Mid Hants Railway 'Watercress Line' on this historic visit.
