Enjoy friendly banter as you travel on a steam train drinking local ale!
New Information - Covid 19
The current pandemic has necessitated changes to the operation of the Real Ale Train.
On arrival at Alton Station, you will be advised where to find your allocated seats on the train. Please then make your way to the bar vehicle to collect your free pint. The train will depart at 7.00pm and travel to Alresford Station where there is a 45 minute stop for food, available from the West Country Buffet on the Platform. The train will then depart for Ropley where it will wait for an hour to allow further visits to the bar vehicle (no access to the bar whilst the train is moving) We will then return to Alresford where the bar vehicle is detached from the train. At 10:00 pm we will make our last trip back to Alton Station.
Due to space limitations, the amount of stock we can carry in the bar vehicle has been reduced, we will endeavour to carry a small supply of wine and soft drinks. Other drinks are available from the Buffet at Alresford during the stop there.
We would prefer contactless payment if possible please.
Customers with existing bookings for the advertised dates will be transferred unless we hear to the contrary.
*Pub Busting Prices*
Train fares are only £16 per person and just £3 per pint!
