On the first Sunday of the month from May to October a vintage bus service operates from Alton station.
You do not need to purchase a train ticket to ride this service, you can take a free ride around the nearby villages on route to Jane Austen's House in nearby Chawton.
Timetable copies will be given out on the day, you can also view the timetable by clicking on this link.
Please note the timetable for 3rd June is different to the standard timetable, you can view this here.
*Special Event dates - train timetables will vary from the standard timetable
Unfortunately, due to their age these buses do not have provision for wheelchairs.
This vintage bus service is operated by the Medstead Depot Omnibus Group, who are one of three groups under the Working Omnibus Museum Project Ltd, and their buses frequently visit running days and rallies around the South. MDOG is part of a charity established in the late 1980's which provides a storage depot for 18 vintage buses originally running bus services in the south of England. The buses are owned and maintained by individuals or small groups.
Don't forget the Alton Bus Rally in July every year; it's one of Britain's biggest bus rallies and running days.
