Solve the clues on a 3 course evening dining train. The scene is set at the station, then armed with your clues you can interrogate the suspects whilst enjoying your meal on-board a steam train. The evening concludes back at the station where the murderer is revealed.

The Murder Mystery dining train operates on select Saturday evenings. The evening starts at 6.15pm and finishes at approx 11pm. There is a minimum age of 16 and a smart dress code.
Train fare and meal only £87.50 per person, including a complimentary bottle of wine per couple.

25th May  -  Hi De Die

The year is 1965 and you find yourself in the nest of vipers that is Bantam's Holiday Camp.  Bantam's opened in the late forties when holiday camps were all the rage after the war.  It did well for the first few years, but now it's seedy in the extreme.  Blustering Bertie Bantam, an ex WWII Sargeant Major, is trying to breathe new life into his business.  For the new season he has employed veteran comedian Vince Grocock, who has managed to scratch a living in clubs since being invalided out of the army.  You will also meet Frank Vernon who is one of the camp's "Greencoats"  Another staff member is the ambitious Muriel Spanks - can she ditch her job as a cleaner and join the entertainment team? Lastly is curmudgeonly Wally Freemantle, the caretaker and handyman.  Also holidaying at the camp are warring grandmothers Eileen Slightly and Verity Scarfe, both of whom are competing for the affection of 12 year old Kevin, their mutual grandson.

31st August  -  A Timetable to Murder

The year is 1955 and having received an unexpected invitation along with pre-paid tickets, a selected group of family members have been requested to meet Great Aunt Agatha at the local Railway Station where they will be taken on a mystery journey which all with remember for a lifetime.  The question is: whose lifetime will only last a few more hours? Who is going to commit the dastardly deed and how?

14th December  -  Mistletoe and Murder

In the Magic Kingdom the Yuletide Ball is fast approaching and this year everyone has an extra reason to celebrate - the engagement of Cinderella and Prince Charming.  But will everything go to plan? Will the Queen be able to get her seating plan right? Will Buttons dark secret be revealed? Will the Evil Fairy succeed in her plan to riun the day - or will someone ruin hers?
With lots of laughter and audience participation, this is the perfect Murder Mystery for the Christmas season.

6.15pm - Guests arrive for pre-dinner drinks in the Buffet on the platform at Alresford Station.
6.45pm - Guests to be seated in the Old Goods Shed prior to an introduction to the evening by our MC. Please note that the venue is upstairs. There is a stair lift available but we would appreciate a call in advance to advise that it is required. We can then ensure that we have somebody available to operate it for you.
7.00pm - The events leading up to and including the dastardly crime!
7.15pm - Guests join the train at Alresford Station where your three course meal is served. During the meal the actors will mingle amongst you to be cross examined - try out your crime busting abilities to identify the murderer.
10.30pm - Return to Alresford station. You will be asked to take your seats back in the theatre in the Old Goods Shed. There you will witness the gripping conclusion and the winning team or teams will be announced.

Booking Information
All of our dining trains are advance booking only. We recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.

Due to the fixed seating layout bookings are made per complete table of two or table of four.

Prices include train fare and meal but excludes drinks with the exception of the complimentary offer. Wines, spirits, beer and soft drinks are available from the wine waiting staff at extra cost. Diners may bring their own wine and champagne but will be charged corkage per bottle at:£13 wine/£18 champagne/£25 wine box.

To assist our staff in making the most of your visit, please indicate at the end of the booking if there is a special celebration and provide us with the name of the person or persons for whom this is a special occasion.

Menus and Dietary Requirements
All of our dining trains have a fixed menu which will be available on the website for each particular date. If you require the vegetarian option this must be ordered in advance. To avoid embarrassment on the day, please give details at least one week prior if any member of your party has any special dietary requirements or allergies that require a different meal to be provided, eg: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, no nuts, no red meat, no mushrooms, no shellfish, etc. Please note that it is impossible for us to provide an alternative to the fixed menu if we are only advised on the day.

Departure Times
Murder Mystery evenings start at 6.30pm. The dining train departs Alresford Station at 7.20pm sharp returning to Alresford Station approximately 10.45pm unless otherwise stated.
Meals are served during two round trips on the line. Please allow good time to park and arrive at Alresford station prior to the start of the evening.

Dress Code
All of our dining trains have a smart dress code – shirts and jackets for the gentlemen, dresses or smart trousers for the ladies. Strictly no jeans or trainers please.

We regret that there can be no refund for ‘no show’ customers. Cancellations notified in writing, at least four weeks before the booked date will be refunded less a £10 admin fee; shorter notice cancellations are not entitled to a refund but the company will try to re-sell the tickets. If a purchaser is found then the cost, less an administration charge of £10, will be refunded.

Customers with limited mobility can use their wheelchair to board the service but, due to the internal dimensions of our dining carriages, wheelchairs cannot then be used for access to seats or for mobility once on board.

On Murder Mystery dining trains we have a minimum age of 16.

Whilst every effort is made to haul the dining trains by steam locomotive and use the coaches as described, there may be the need to use diesel power and/or alternative coaching stock subject to necessity. The company reserves the right to make such changes for whatever reason and without prior notice being given.
