On the first Sunday of the month from May to October a FREE vintage bus service operates from Alresford Station.
You do not need to purchase a train ticket to ride this service.
The vintage bus leaves Alresford Station on a circular route through Bishop’s Sutton at the following times on a trip lasting 20 minutes:
11.30 12.00 12.30 13.00 13.30
then 14.30 15.00 15.30 16.00
Unfortunately, due to their age these buses do not have provision for wheelchairs.
This vintage bus service is operated by the Medstead Depot Omnibus Group, who are one of three groups under the Working Omnibus Museum Project Ltd, and their buses frequently visit running days and rallies around the South. MDOG is part of a charity established in the late 1980's which provides a storage depot for 18 vintage buses originally running bus services in the south of England. The buses are owned and maintained by individuals or small groups.
Don't forget the Alton Bus Rally in July every year; it's one of Britain's biggest bus rallies and running days.
