Friday 19th - Sunday 21st October 2018

Experience this steam-packed three day weekend, where you can relive yesteryear.

*THREE guest engines now confirmed!*

1. Foxcote Manor No. 7882 will be joining us from the West Somerset Railway. The Manor class of two-cylinder 4-6-0 tender engines was designed by C. B. Collett, the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Western Railway. A first batch of 20 was built at Swindon in 1938. A second batch of ten was delivered in 1950, to what had become British Railways (Western Region). 7822 was one of the post-war batch, and was allocated to Oswestry depot when new. It spent its whole working life in Shropshire, Cheshire and North and Mid Wales.

2. Ex-GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199 courtesy of our friends at the Llangollen Railway. 5199 was built in 1934; 8 of the class have been preserved; and this loco has never visited the Mid Hants Railway.

3. BR Standard '4MT' 2-6-4T No. 80078 courtesy of Stewart Robinson.
80078 last visited the Mid Hants Railway in July 2017 for the end of Southern Steam Gala. The locomotive was built at Brighton Works and entered service in February 1954. Originally working on the London, Tilbury and Southend line, 80078 came under Western Region ownership in July 1962 when she moved initially to Shrewsbury and then on to Croes Newydd, Wrexham.
